In order to support those in need in a more holistic and sustainable way, and in order to encourage more people to get involved, Zainab decided to launch the ZARA Charity. This charity has brought together a group of charitable organizations that provide valuable relief to suffering Tanzanian communities. Zainab's aim is to give these communities the firm ground of support they need to better themselves and to reach their full potential.

• As a separate charitable organization, ZARA Charity, its operations, and its finances are distinct from ZARA Tours. While ZARA Tours provides some financial support to this organization, any and all monetary or material donations remain with ZARA Charity to be passed on to its supported organizations with no form of contributed support ever going to ZARA Tours.
• ZARA Charity believes in complete and comprehensive accountability that ensures responsible application of all donor contributions to the specific causes they wish to help. If donating to the Charity as a whole, then this entails guaranteeing that donated funds are given directly and completely to supported organizations only.
• ZARA Charity has people in touch with many charitable organizations that understand their needs and can distribute donated funds accordingly. These people will follow up on how the money has been used in order to guarantee donors that their money is being used according to their interest and in the best manner for the benefit of the needy.
• ZARA Charity is aiding local NGOs and CBOs by providing the outreach and technical means of securing donations from abroad while at the same time helping philanthropic donors fund trustworthy organizations and secure tax deductible opportunities.
• Provides the means for concerned members of society to support these much needed programs through one time or regular monetary donations as well as through direct volunteer efforts.
• Is working with ZARA Tours to help these charities benefit from tourism while also facilitating the creation of sustainable income-producing activities and ventures. For example, we help charities produce souvenirs and products that can be sold to off-set costs.  We also promote "voluntourism" efforts to help establish these income-producing operations for the charities. One such example is that of a group of students from the University of Georgia who built an additional chicken coup for a local orphanage and stocked it with new chickens so that more eggs could be collected and sold to help cover operating expenses.
• Is committed to fostering improvement in all aspects of society and therefore supports organizations serving many need areas including:
  
  • Social needs - street children, orphans, women, minorities, elderly, sick
  • Environmental needs - conservation, animal protection, sustainability
  • Educational needs - schools
  • Arts and Culture
